Marketplaces Tighten Control: How to Avoid Product Listing Suspensions
6/2/2026
In May, sellers on Wildberries faced a new reality: the marketplace began массово requesting customs declaration (CD) numbers for imported goods. Since May 15, many merchants have received notifications requiring additional documentation.
The issue arose due to customs control challenges. Trucks carrying goods intended for Armenia have been unable to pass inspections without proof of legal importation. In response, Wildberries launched customs declaration verification across entire supply chains.
This is only one step in a broader trend. In late April and early May, both Wildberries and Ozon temporarily blocked product listings from Armenian suppliers following new customs control requirements that came into force on April 20.
Today, three major trends are shaping the market:
- Stricter customs control. Marketplaces increasingly require additional supporting documents from sellers.
- Increased tax pressure and audits. Tax authorities have strengthened oversight of import supply chains. Grey import schemes now carry significant risks, including listing suspensions, cargo seizures, additional tax assessments, fines, and regulatory inspections.
- New Platform Economy Law. Starting October 1, 2026, Federal Law No. 289-FZ will require marketplaces to verify compliance documents before a product listing goes live. Without certificates, declarations of conformity, and customs declaration numbers, products may not be published.
Many businesses still choose grey delivery schemes because they appear cheaper and simpler. However, these solutions can create serious problems when requested documents cannot be provided to marketplaces, tax authorities, or banks.
